From retro mini prints, greetings cards, notelets and letterpress invitations to bespoke letterpress stationery commissions, Letterpress design is a staple of Dorset stationer Elle Poulson’s work. 

A modern approach to retro stationery 

Elle uses a combination of techniques; both, using her 80s & 90s inspired drawings made into polymer plates, and using vintage Letterpress typeface found on her eBay treasure hunts.

With an eye for finding the striking in the ordinary, much of Elle’s creative letterpress stationery playfully features everyday objects from times gone by - with items from Elle’s own childhood and teenage years being a favourite focus.

When iconic items aren’t in the spotlight, she uses simple messages that leave classic retro typefaces to take the spotlight.

The results: a beautiful mix of contemporary minimalism and nostalgic joy.

Fantastic learning tool

I purchased 2 of these, 1 as a teacher gift and 1 for home. The teacher loved it and uses it regularly in the classroom. My daughters use it for their maths homework (EYFS and Y1). Not only is it practical but it looks beautiful in our playroom. Fantastic quality and I will be purchasing the alphabet board soon.
